Dufry renews its contract with Cardiff Airport for 12 years

Dufry has successfully extended its contract to operate the tax and duty free store at Cardiff Airport in Wales for a further 12 years, following a successful partnership for the past 20 years. Cardiff Airport is the only major passenger Airport in Wales, and is an important driver for the Welsh economy through the connectivity it offers to other parts of the UK and internationally. In 2019 Cardiff Airport welcomed 1.6 million passengers.

Dufry wins new, ten-year duty-free contract at Martinique International Airport

Dufry, leading global travel retailer, has been awarded a new ten-year concession contract at the Martinique Aimé Césaire International Airport starting January 1^st, 2023, for the new duty-free shop covering 750 m² of retail space.  It will be located in the new airport extension area currently under construction next to the existing terminal. Alongside the new contract, the current concession for the existing 340 m² duty-free shop, which Dufry has been operating since 2011, has also been extended until December 2022.

Dufry wins new, five-year duty-free contract at Cayenne International Airport

Dufry, leading global travel retailer, has won a new, five-year concession contract to operate the duty-free shop at Cayenne – Felix Eboué International Airport in French Guiana, the French overseas department located in the North of South-America. Cayenne airport served 550,000 passengers in 2019, and Dufry will start operations of the duty-free shop covering 120 m² on August 1, 2021. With the newly won concession, Dufry further consolidates its footprint in Central and South America, a geography which includes also the Caribbean and is considered as one of the most important tourist destinations worldwide.

Dufry with continued gradual improvements in First Quarter 2021, and successful execution of refinancing

In a business environment characterized by gradual improvements, Dufry has reached a turnover of CHF 460.3 million with an organic growth of -73.9% compared to 2019. The company is on track to achieve CHF 530-670 million savings compared to 2019 in personnel and other expenses for FY 2021, and has signed MAG reliefs for 2021 of around CHF 300 million. Cash consumption in Q1 2021 was better than expected reaching CHF 219.3 million and reflecting normal business seasonality, thus allowing to confirm the 2021 scenarios provided to the market.

Roger Fordyce is stepping down from his position as Chief Executive Officer North America and member of the Global Executive Committee (GEC) on June 30, 2021. Sarah Branquinho has been appointed to the Global Executive Committee (GEC) as Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer (CDIO) effective July 1, 2021.

Results of Ordinary General Meeting of Dufry AG on May 18, 2021

The Ordinary General Meeting of Dufry AG was held at the offices of Dufry AG at Brunngässlein 12, 4052 Basel, Switzerland, on May 18, 2021 at 14.00 hrs. The meeting was held without the presence of shareholders based on Article 27 of the Ordinance 3 issued by the Swiss Federal Council on measures to prevent coronavirus (COVID-19) of June 19, 2020. The total number of shares represented at the meeting amounted to 56,124,263 shares (corresponding to 62% of the total share capital of Dufry AG) and was validly convened and constituted.

World Duty Free wins new, twelve-year contract at Teesside International Airport

World Duty Free, a subsidiary of leading global travel retailer Dufry, has won a new concession contract to operate the tax- and duty-free store at Teesside International Airport (UK) for a period of 12 years. Teesside International Airport, located in Darlington North East England, was recently taken into public ownership and is targeting an additional 1.4 million passengers to pass through its doors by 2029, adding to the 148,000 travellers welcomed in 2019. With the newly won concession, Dufry further consolidates its footprint in the UK, where it currently operates duty-free shops at 25 airports.
