With LOAF, Avolta sets a new benchmark in airport food & beverage – a warm, welcoming space that blends the ambiance of a classic French bakery with the operational excellence to serve a high-volume international crowd, without ever feeling rushed or crowded.
Walter Seib, CEO Northern, Eastern and Central Europe of Avolta said: “We are very excited to introduce LOAF to the travelers. A combination of French inspiration with local twist, we want to create a reference for our international airport together with our long-standing partner Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. Our mission is to not only offer delicious products, but also to create a unique experience for our travelers. I compliment the local Avolta team for the design of this French inspired bakery LOAF, which creates a unique atmosphere with its open terraces, warm colors and mosaic tones.”
Arthur Reijnhart, Chief Commercial Officer Schiphol: "We're investing heavily in improving the passenger experience at the airport with a clear goal: we want to make traveling via Schiphol increasingly attractive. With the opening of LOAF, we're once again adding a high-quality concept. Besides renewing our food and beverage concepts, we're strengthening our retail offering with brands like Louis Vuitton and Rituals, and building an airport where the overall experience is central. This way, we offer travelers an appealing mix of luxury, convenience, and quality."
Located at the former site of Café Chocolat and Seafood & Bubbles, LOAF is part of Schiphol’s reimagined Lounge 1 and is open 24/7. The concept offers nearly 200 seats and has been designed with intuitive service flow to accommodate large passenger volumes without compromising on atmosphere or quality.
Behind the counter, guests are personally guided through a selection of freshly prepared hot and cold sandwiches, made with locally supplied breads, as well as an array of irresistible French pâtisserie – from buttery croissants to delicate éclairs and pain au chocolat. The display feels curated, spacious – a hallmark of the design approach that prioritizes clarity, calm, and choice.
