Avolta expands F&B footprint at King Khalid International Airport

Avolta AG, the leading global travel retail and food and beverage player, has expanded its F&B presence to 16 concepts at King Khalid International Airport, 16 months after entering Saudi Arabia.

The latest phase added six new F&B outlets in four months, building on Avolta’s established presence in the market and making a further step in the company’s development in Saudi Arabia.

The expanded offer strengthens the airport’s dining mix, combining internationally recognized brands with local and regionally relevant concepts. It includes cafés, quick-service and grab-and-go formats, together with a hybrid Hudson Café, giving travelers a broader choice.

A central part of the development is the Oasis Food Court, inspired by Riyadh’s desert landscape. Sculptural metallic trees define seating areas creating a distinctive space designed to manage high passenger volumes while offering a comfortable environment for travelers.

The food court includes a mix of fast food, Arabic cuisine, and international favorites, with live cooking experiences, including shawarma skewers and grill stations, that bring selected Arabic food traditions into the airport environment. The opening of Urth Caffé also marks the Californian brand’s first airport location outside of the United States, adding a premium, health focused offer to the terminal.

Luis Marin, President and CEO Europe, Middle East and Africa, Avolta, said: “Our growth at King Khalid International Airport reflects close coordination with our airport partner and disciplined work by our local team. This latest development has strengthened the offer for travelers and expanded our presence in Saudi Arabia. We recognize the wider situation in the Middle East and are especially grateful to the teams delivering this work on the ground.”

Abdulaziz A. Alasaker, Chief Commercial Officer at Riyadh Airports Company, said: "This expansion reflects the strength of our partnership with Avolta and our shared focus on enhancing the passenger experience at King Khalid International Airport. The addition of diverse food and beverage concepts enriches the airport’s offering, catering to a wide range of traveler segments while providing greater variety, choice, and convenience. This milestone supports our ongoing efforts to position King Khalid International Airport as a leading global aviation hub and contributes to the Kingdom’s broader tourism growth.”
